Wormy goes to Iowa.

Wormy made it through Drake. Naturally, we gave him a bigger commute.

Version 0.3.0 adds the University of Iowa campus to the browser game. Reach Drake’s garden, choose Continue to Iowa, and start the next campus with fresh strength and your original length. If you get stepped on, you restart your current campus.

A new campus to learn

Iowa has a river, alternate bridge crossings, and students walking between buildings. It is inspired by the central campus, with paths and crossings adapted for the game. Drake is the easier introduction. Iowa asks you to think a little more about your route.

The garden is no longer next door

A player pointed out that once they found the garden, later runs became easy. Our first attempt at variety put the gardens too close together. Fair criticism.

Iowa now picks a finishing garden in one of three different regions, on either side of the river. The opening clue tells you where to search. The exact gold marker appears when you get close. After a win, New garden sends you searching in a different region. Deaths and manual retries keep your current target, so you can use what you learned.

Shortcuts, with the usual uncertainty

Four manholes can send you to another exit. They preserve your strength and length, and give you one second of protection after arrival. A separate teal garden offers one refill of strength, but it is not the finish. Already at full strength? It saves the refill for later.

A little clearer on phones

The browser game keeps the touch controls from last week. Menus now explain the buttons you can actually use, and Iowa’s opening instructions show the correct garden region before play begins. The minimap gets out of the way of the opening and end screens.

I played several mobile runs this weekend. Drake felt easy, while Iowa felt more challenging and satisfying. That is the balance we are keeping for this release. Device coverage is still limited, so please tell us your phone and browser if something feels off.

This release passed 286 automated gameplay assertions and desktop/mobile-emulated Chrome startup checks. Those checks help catch regressions; they do not replace playing the game.

What comes next?

First, we want to hear how Iowa plays for you. Loyola and its wrong-manhole campus detours remain a future idea. They are not in this release.
